Choosing The Best Time Of Year
The best time of year for a Hinterland wedding totally depends on your vision for your special day.
Dreaming of a winter wedding? Plan an indoor wedding in June, July, or August at an artisanal restaurant.
Dying for a spring celebration? Schedule a botanical garden wedding for September, October, or November.
Obsessed with the warmth of summer? Have an outdoor ceremony in December, January, or February, but opt for an evening time to avoid the heat (and just note, there is a possibility of rain).
Want to say your vows in autumn? Find a secluded spot amongst the trees to celebrate your love in March, April, or May.
Choosing The Best Time Of Day
If you’re an early bird dreaming of a morning Hinterland wedding, I recommend having it at 10am. Scheduling events any earlier than this can add stress and rush the process.
If you’re a night owl imagining a ceremony under the stars, I recommend booking your space for 7pm. This is because many venues close around 10pm, and booking any later than 7pm leaves you pressed for time. Not to mention, super late weddings make the next-day hangovers so much worse!
Both morning and nighttime weddings are amazing, so the best option is whichever you feel more drawn to. My personal favourite time is during golden hour. This is the hour of warm lighting every day before the sun sets. The beautiful colours and atmosphere elevate the scenery and your beauty. Also, your photos will be amazing!
Making Your Hinterland Wedding Special
Although weddings often involve heaps of people and lots of different input, don’t forget that this is your day. So make it your own!
Here are some ways to do just that:
Plan some adventurous or chill activities for your bridal party, or even the entire guest list! Think spa treatments, nature tours, or wine tastings
Be creative with your seating arrangements, decor, and event space setup
Write your own vows.
Choose a completely unique, totally remote spot in nature rather than a traditional venue and have your invitations double as maps!

Here’s my advice:
Finalise your decisions about the type of wedding you want to have first. Pin down your choices about season and time of day, overall vibe, and overarching vision before everything else.
Consider whether you want to get an all-inclusive package or bring in your own vendors. Some venues will offer both options, but some won’t.
Search for your venue and vendors wayyy in advance so you don’t have to rush. If you wait until the last minute, you might miss potential signs that something isn’t a good fit. But if you give yourself ample time, you can make sure every choice you make is the right one.
Don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions and make all of your main requests upfront. Communication is key. Clearly stating your expectations — and learning everything you can about vendors’ processes — helps everyone avoid stressful situations later on.

Sol Gardens
A remote spot close to Currumbin Beach, Sol Gardens is nestled low in a gorgeous valley. It’s home to a range of picture-perfect features, like charming lilypad rock pools and sparkling streams. Here, you can choose between three incredible ceremony locations and two reception areas, including an indoor pavilion.
This venue accommodates 85 guests and wedding packages start from $9,900.
Gold Coast Farm House
Gold Coast Farm House is one of the most magical Hinterland wedding venues out there, with five elegant ceremony locations. It has 60 acres of sprawling lawns, a creek with three swimming holes, and lots of wildlife.
The couple who run this place are super passionate about sharing their beautiful and totally secluded property. Their team is dedicated to helping your day run smoothly, and your experience is sure to be great.
Here, you can go with one of three different reception packages, based on the size of your guest list. Capacity is 150 guests and prices start from $6,950.
The Acre Boomerang
This venue, which is a stone’s throw from Broadbeach, was recently revitalised with new details that enhance its classy vibe. The Acre has gorgeous gardens, a century-old barn, and rolling rainforests.
It’s a great spot for foodies looking for the absolute best Gold Coast wedding catering, as a Michelin-star chef handles all food and drink!
The Acre can accommodate up to 150 guests. Venue pricing starts from $3,290, but all-inclusive packages are pricier.
St Bernards
