Cherie & Daniel are massive foodies and love to travel and go on wild adventures. They have travelled to Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Norway and various parts of Australia together.

Their love story began when they crossed paths at a remote project up in Weipa, far north Queensland.

Daniel caught Cherie's attention by declining her request to assist with an employee, which as we all know, no one tells her "no". Cherie caught Daniel's attention later that evening in the dining hall, with her beauty and uncomfortable smile after a co-worker announcing he was available.

It wasn't until a few months later after an awards night in Brisbane that the romance truly started to blossom. Tempted by the forbidden fruit, Cherie finally agreed to a date with Daniel, where they shared a nice cold beer and saucy pizza together at the Charming Squire in the heart of Southbank.

Persistence was key in ensuring the relationship blossomed in the early stages where their love has continued to grow.

The proposal:

This occurred in a small picturesque town in Austria, called Hallstatt. It occurred on the 13th of February 2023, we had spent the day exploring the nearby mountains and salt mine, when Daniel tried to get Cherie back to our beautiful apartment overlooking the lake for some cheese and wine. Cherie being the avid photographer she is, kept delaying this offer to continue to capture more pictures of Hallstatt township (even though we had been on a photography tour the day before). As dusk approached, she finally agreed to making her way home. Daniel, hoping for a little more light, had to improvise with a candle amidst the cheese and wine. The proposal took place and she said "Yes!".
